I recently returned from BladeShow Texas where I had a great time and was blessed to meet some new people as well as some old!
I figured I would take the time to talk to you guys about some of the things that I have coming up especially as some of it has to do with my experience at BladeShow Tx, and much of it has to do with the upcoming BladeShow Atl!
So my only inventory at the show was HiViZ AdventureCrafts and Jackalopes and although HiViZ is generally a good seller for me there are certainly a large number of people out there who will never purchase a red blade so it will be my goal to not have such an extreme color option as the only option going forward for shows. The only things that I had aside from HiViZ knives at the shows were accessories for my knives which I expect will never be the money maker at a show as for a person to purchase a knife specific accessory obviously they need to already own the knife that it is specific to!
Anyways, HiViZ being the only color option also made me think a lot about my color choices going forward. I believe it very likely that going forward my standard option for both the AdventureCraft and Jackalope will be A2 steel with a stonewash finish, natural micarta scales and od green kydex. This would not only be a somewhat more affordable primary option but also a more universal one. A2 knives are in the works as we speak!
Other exciting moves include things like "Cowcarta" from Diez knives, which is literally leather micarta! IF everything goes as planned with this material I hope to offer a VERY limited number of knives with this kind of handle material with a gun blued finish done by Turnbull, and if bluing by Turnbull goes well I could also offer other similar options like ivory g10 scales. This is a direction which I find to be VERY exciting.

"I believe it very likely that going forward my standard option for both the AdventureCraft and Jackalope will be A2 steel with a stonewash finish, natural micarta scales and od green kydex." That sounds like a good plan. I love the high viz. But a lot of people are buying a knife to put in their pockets and EDC, and they're not thinking, "If I drop my knife in the woods and it gets lost in the brush I could die from exposure." Not everyone walks into a room and immediately identifies the exits paths. "Oh, single entry building... What would I crouch behind before I make my move... Are these tables bolted to the floor or can they be knocked…
